Why It Moves the Currency

The decisionThe bank sets its rate
SoWhat the currency earns changes
AndThe currency is priced again

A central bank's rate sets the price of money in its currency, so a decision reprices that currency the moment it is out. Traders read the statement as closely as the rate, for what it says about the meetings ahead.

Where the Dates Come From

The meeting dates are read on the Fed's own calendar, the target ranges on its table of changes, and each statement is the one the Fed's calendar links. Nothing is taken from another calendar. The Red Folder Calendar's weekly rebuild compares these dates with its own and stops when they differ.
